THREE FIK UNY STUDENTS WON GOLD AT UNJ INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL PENCAK SILAT CHAMPIONSHIP 2021

Three FIK UNY students won gold at International Virtual Pencak Silat Championship held virtually by Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ). The event, held from August 21 to 22, 2021, was themed "Rise The Spirit To Be Champion" and broadcasted live on Youtube.

FIK students bringing home golds are Muh. Abdul Haris from Sports Coaching Education (PKO) department, winner of Adult Men's Singles, Lu’lu’ul Ilmi from Sports Coaching Education (PKO) department, winner of Adult Men's Singles, and Lindu Septiywati from Sports Coaching Education (PKO) department, winner of Adult Women's Singles.

Six countries, 190 contingents, and a total of 990 participants competed in this event. Besides promoting the sport to the public, one of the goals of this championship is to unify the nations through pencak silat.

In addition, this event also aims at providing a space for athletes to channel their interests and talents, and allowing them to show their skills despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Lastly, the event was held to improve students' and public's motivation and interest in pencak silat. (PD)
